Hundreds of HSD students, families, and community members gathered at Liberty High School on Friday, Feb. 17 to commemorate Black History Month with an evening of celebration, connection, learning, and lifting up the historical contributions and impact of Black people in America and throughout the world. Originally slated to take place at Hidden Creek Community Center, interest was so strong in the event that it needed to be moved to a larger venue to accommodate everyone. The festivities included food, music, guest speakers, spoken word artists, and community-building. Many thanks to the Black Village Family Advisory Committee, Black Student Unions, and staff for making this important and meaningful event possible - you embody our favorite saying: Proud to be HSD! |
