Featured Event: Lenox Bulb Planting
|
|
Carrying on a tradition that spans more than 40 years, students and staff at Lenox Elementary School planted daffodil bulbs in beds around the building on Thursday, Oct. 7. The bulbs were donated by Farmington Gardens and families; flowers will bloom between late winter and early spring.

A temporary gym is being erected on the Groner K-8 campus, targeted to open by the end of October, while the existing gym is repaired with new steel beams. A community beam signing will be scheduled soon! Get updates on this and other bond projects at hillsboro-bond.org.

Just a reminder that the Great Oregon ShakeOut takes place on Thursday, Oct. 21. It is part of International ShakeOut Day where individuals, families, schools, organizations, and municipalities around the world test their earthquake preparedness. Participating in drills like these helps ensure you are ready to survive and recover quickly from emergency situations.

Century Homecoming Bonfire
|
Century High School will hold its annual Homecoming Bonfire on Thursday, Oct. 21, from approximately 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. A permit has been obtained from Hillsboro Fire & Rescue, neighbors have been notified, and safety precautions are in place. So if you drive by and see a concerning blaze, please know that it is a controlled situation. Go Jags!

The HSD Board of Directors comprises seven elected members serving four-year terms and three student representatives serving a one-year term. Board members are community volunteers and do not receive compensation for their work. Board members establish policy based on Oregon and Federal laws governing schools.
