Starting Monday, April 19, we will welcome back students in grades 7-12 who have chosen to participate in the hybrid model. Their schedules are below for your reference.
Grades 7-8 Hybrid (start date of April 19, 2021)
Daily start time: 10:15 a.m.; daily end time: 2 p.m.
Four 40-minute class periods, plus advisory; 5 minutes between classes
Breakfast and lunch available
Grades 9-12 Hybrid (start date of April 19, 2021)
Daily start time: 10 a.m.; daily end time: 1:45 p.m.
Four 45-minute class periods, plus advisory; 5 minutes between classes
This Thursday, April 22, is Earth Day! And non-profit organization EarthDay.org is hosting a three-day event in its honor. First up will be the global youth climate summit on Tuesday, April 20; next is the Teach for the Planet: Global Education Summit on Wednesday, April 21; and last will be the Earth Day Live digital event, which will begin streaming at 9 a.m. Pacific time. If you’re interested in making an impact locally, consider picking up trash in your neighborhood; renewing your commitment to reducing, reusing, and recycling at home; switching from single use plastic water bottles to reusable; and more - get creative and help reduce your environmental footprint.

CDL Experience and Fall Planning Surveys
All staff and grades 4-12 students and families should have received a survey asking about their experiences with CDL and their preliminary plans for the fall; your prompt reply by April 22 is greatly appreciated...
One of the final three gymnasiums being constructed through the bond, the McKinney Elementary gym is progressing toward a scheduled August 2021 completion. Crews continue to work on the framing and exterior sheathing of the gym. Roof panels are expected to be delivered and installed soon. The HSD Board of Directors comprises seven elected members serving four-year terms and three student representatives serving a one-year term. Board members are community volunteers and do not receive compensation for their work. Board members establish policy based on Oregon and Federal laws governing schools.
