Volunteer Art Walk Program Chair Needed
Was your New Year's resolution to do more for your community? If so, then we've got a great opportunity for you to contribute to the Hillsborough arts scene and our local economy! The Hillsborough Arts Council seeks a highly organized great communicator who can commit to volunteering on a regular basis to head up Hillsborough Art Walk Last Fridays. HAC Gallery & Gift Shop Reopens: 1/24
We'll be back in business next week! On January 24, the Hillsborough Arts Council Gallery & Gift Shop will reopen after being closed for winter inventory. Winter Shop hours will be Wednesday through Saturday, 12 to 4 pm. We thank you for your tremendous support of our artists during the holiday shopping season and look forward to seeing you soon.
Hillsborough Art Walk Last Fridays: 1/26
Art Walk Last Fridays showcases the talents of local artists in walkable historic Hillsborough. Park once and enjoy art galleries, artist studios, boutiques and award-winning restaurants. Many Hillsborough Last Fridays Art Walk venues will have opening receptions from 6 to 9 pm.

The Hillsborough Arts Council Gallery and Gift Shop  at 102 North Churton Street presents "T he African American Quilt Circle."
The Hillsborough Gallery of Arts  at 121 North Churton Street presents "C Note” featuring original works of art at $100 each.
The Hillsborough/Orange County Chamber of Commerce  at 121 North Churton Street, Ste. 1C, presents "Triangle Visual Artists on the Move" featuring the paintings of Joan Meade and David Taylor.
The Hillsborough Artists Cooperative and The Skylight Gallery  at 102 West King Street present an evening of pop-up/art share. In addition to works in the Skylight Gallery, at 7:30 pm those present will gather to share favorite readings. Visitors can participate by bringing a poem, prose, lines from a favorite play or philosophical work, or an original piece of their own writing to share. 
Thomas Stevens Gallery  at 126 West King Street presents "New Year, New Directions."
ENO Gallery at 100 South Churton St. presents new landscape paintings by Ben Hamburger. 
Margaret Lane Gallery  at 121 West Margaret Lane presents  “Everything’s Eventually A Flower” featuring the acrylic paintings of Chrystal Hardt.
K’s Closet  at 200 North Churton Street presents goods by over 60 local artisans.

Brochures with a map of the Hillsborough Last Fridays Art Walk will be available at any of the participating venues and more information is available  here.
Call for Artists! Apply by 1/30
The tenth annual Art in the Heart of Hillsborough Art Show will be held on April 21 from 9 am to 4 pm. This juried art show and sale is now accepting applications from artists.

Work will be judged on both originality and craftsmanship within 13 different categories. For consideration, by January 30, complete the online application, submit three photos of your work, and pay the application fee.
