The energy at our Freshman Mix & Mingle was absolutely wonderful! It was so great to see new families connecting and getting settled in. A huge thank you to our leadership students and volunteers who helped make it such a success!

Mark your calendars for a few important dates coming up:

• Back-to-School Night & BBQ, September 10 – Stop by and say hello! We'll have the BBQ going and will be selling HHS swag, so come hungry.
• Parent Education Night with Project Reboot, September 16 – Join us alongside our other local high schools for this important parent education event.

Please note: our PTSO meeting originally scheduled for September 8 is canceled. We look forward to seeing everyone back in October!

Hillsdale, San Mateo & Foster City Community,

When each of us puts into practice the great words of Arthur Ashe, “start where you are, use what you have and do what you can” approach, then we begin to observe what Community Support in Action can look like.

We have now served more than 11 families affected by the Foster City apartment fire, providing support and essential items as they begin to navigate the road ahead. At this time, we are not accepting additional donations. Instead, we are working directly with several of the affected families to identify and meet their most immediate needs.

Our Community Closet Team has been blown away by the incredible outpouring of support from our community. So many donations have been received, and an amazing group of volunteers have stepped up to help!

We will continue to share updates about what families are looking for and ways our community can help. Gift cards are especially helpful, as they allow families to purchase the specific items they need most. Please continue to follow our Instagram page for the latest updates and opportunities to support. We are so grateful for everyone who has donated, volunteered, shared resources, and helped us support families when they need it most. Thank you for showing up for our community. Your kindness, generosity, and compassion are making a real difference. 

We are a community of hope which recognizes that hope is an action. We hope that you take some type of action this school year to help us make sure all students and families at Hillsdale have the resources and support to thrive in our community. Action can be in the form of taking a volunteer shift at our Peace Pantry, Community Closet or Community Garden. Action can be supporting our work in Empowerment Through Action which is focused on closing the opportunity gap for students in San Mateo and Foster City. No action is too big or too small. . .but every action is met with gratitude. . .and maintains hope!

Join the SLC Council

Hillsdale's Small Learning Committee (SLC) Council is the "legislative" arm of our school's governance model, making key decisions on policy and budget that shape the Hillsdale experience. It is Hillsdale's version of the School Site Council.

We are looking for parents who want to get involved and bring their perspective to the table.

When: Monthly on Mondays, 4:00 to 5:30 PM

Where: Hillsdale Library
