Knights Families,
OK, you asked for it, we are asking again...this time, we are appealing to you and your interest in meeting other people who are also wanting to be an active part of the HHS parent/teacher/student community. PTSO, Athletics, and Foundation are in need of active members for the 2025-2026 school year. Without these members, Booster Parent Clubs can't successfully accomplish all that they do. No experience needed, just a willingness to support Hillsdale. PTSO open positions include Board and committee members. Experience not needed, just a willingness to support. If interested, please reach out to us and we can direct you. If you'd like to reach out with questions or interest, click here 2025-2026 Interest
We are a week away from Teacher Appreciation Week. We will be showing our appreciation to the HHS faculty and staff for all that they do to make Hillsdale such an amazing place for our students (and their families) to be a part of starting May 5. (Flyer) To make the week a success, we need YOU. Thanks to all who have already given. If you are able, we'd love for you to donate to the event. There are still some open spots for decorations, food, and little treats to give throughout the week. Click here to donate
Do you have small gift cards ($5-$10) that you are looking to "get rid of"? Maybe they are for stores/services that you won't visit?
We are looking for gift cards to give away as prizes to the teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. No other requirements--just an unused gift card. Variety adds fun to the giveaway, so don't worry about where the gift card is from. Please reach out to Jen via text (650) 245-2081 or email to make delivery arrangements. We would like to have all gift cards delivered to us by Friday, May 2 so we can get them ready for Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you in advance for your continued support. We can't wait!!
Tonight and tomorrow @ 7:00pm, drama students will be performing their One Acts in the Little Theater. These are a great way to see that not only do we have great HHS performers, but also strong writers/directors. (Flyer)
Today is also the Golf Tournament and Auction event at Poplar Creek. The event is open to the entire community with proceeds benefiting the Athletics. Teams have also created baskets for the auction proceeds of which are split between the team and athletics--it's a win-win. We can't wait to see everyone there!!
Have a fantastic week,
Jen and Holly

| | How to Donate Stock to the HHSF | | |
Have you considered making a gift of stock to HHSF? There are many benefits to gifting stock that you've held for more than one year:
- Eliminate capital gains taxes and the Medicare surtax, which combined could be up to 23.8%
- Take an immediate income tax deduction in the amount of the full fair market value if you itemize your deductions
-
Maximize your support of Hillsdale! Donating stock that has grown $10,000 in value would result in an additional $2,380 donated to HHSF vs. donating cash!
Also, HHSF is recruiting students to be featured in photos appearing on our summer postcard and flyers! The photo shoot will take place in early May. A photo from last year is shown below.
Please email Marcine Jansen at execdirector@hillsdalehsfoundation.org for stock donation details, or if your student would like to be part of the photo shoot.

Youth Heart Screenings Save Lives!
1 in 300 youth has an undetected heart condition that puts them at risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). The current standard approach to health history and annual physical examinations misses about 90% of at-risk youth. Early detection of heart abnormalities, which often go undetected until a traumatic cardiac event, can save lives.

April
“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say, ‘It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.’ Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.” — Fred Rogers
