What's Happening at Hillsdale

Knight Families--

It's been a busy week! This week, we are changing up our newsletter blurb.

The Junior class is in need of able hands to help with the Winter Formal. A little background---Winter Formal is hosted by the Junior Class, but all students are invited. Historically we have brought in Sophomore parents to help with "chaperoning" the dance so that they are well prepared to host this event the subsequent year. (All discipline/crowd control is handled by HHS Faculty/Staff, so this is NOT part of your job description.)

This year, we are opening our request to anyone who is willing and able! We also like to have a small handful help with set-up/clean-up.

  • Dance Volunteers: 6:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. We’ll need help with checking-in, coat check, snack distribution, etc. Should be easy, and should be fun! You can be "out of sight" from your student, not to worry.
  • Set-up/ Clean-up: I am still working with our facilities team to confirm the exact time we’ll be able to start setting up on Friday but have 4 p.m. listed on our sign-up (it may actually be a bit later). I should have confirmation tomorrow morning and will be sending a confirmation email to anyone who signs up with the exact details.

Please use this link (direct link is also listed below) to sign-up and thank you in advance to our class of 2025 families! Feel free to reach out to me directly at [email protected], with questions.

Hillsdale High School Foundation -

Message from Principle Gilbert

The Hillsdale High School Foundation has yet to reach our budgeted goal of $600K. We are currently at $460K and I hope you will help us close the gap by making an investment in your child’s education.

Our Foundation helps pay for salaries in our Small Learning Community (SLC) model which includes advisors, houses, and reduced class sizes in 9th and 10th grades. This model costs more but has proven to be extremely beneficial to our students and school community by fostering critical relationships. In addition, the Foundation Fund pays for professional development and collaboration time for our teachers. We also fund technology upgrades and grants to all our Boosters, PTSO, Peace Pantry and Empowerment Through Action.

When the Hillsdale community comes together, we enable our students to thrive and we can say "yes" to our faculty when they have a need.

Thank you!
