What's Happening at Hillsdale

Knights Families,

This week has flown by---literally and figuratively! We hope that this bulletin finds you and your families well after the storms this week.

Last Saturday, HHS hosted their Second Annual Track Invitational. It was a great turn out even with the weather. Thanks to the long list of volunteers who worked so hard who made this event happen--we couldn't have done it without you! Did you notice that our HHS Concession Stand was open during the meet? It is always a great place to grab a quick snack and run into people during games and events. If you are interested in helping with concessions next year, please reach out to Melanie Baldwin

Last week's Junior Interviews took place! Thanks so much to Laura Duncan for being out PTSO lead and Holly Yates and Desma Katakou on this event. Thanks to Ms. Macho, Junior Advisor/English Teacher, and Ms. Preet for sharing the library space for use. Thanks also to all who volunteered to interview and helped with organization so this event could be so successful.

Are you looking for a night out this weekend? Look no further--our fabulous drama department's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream will be happening in the HHS Theater March 17-19.See flyer for times and ticket purchasing options or click here Midsummer Night SMUHSD students get to attend for FREE!

Next week we are super excited to have a Spirit Week to support SMUHSD Special Olympics for our Bay Academy Students! See flyer below for each day's theme. There will also be daily games in the Great Court at lunchtime. Students will wrap up the week, wearing blue in support of Autism Awareness.

The Senior Class See's Candy fundraiser ends next week. If you are looking to purchase some springtime candy, specialty candies, or even gift certificates, click here. Senior Fundraiser

Prom tickets will be on sale the week we return from Spring Break! If your student is bringing a guest (anyone who is not a HHS student), then the necessary paperwork must be completed by the time you purchase your tickets. Dance Contract Also, the tardy/truancy policy will be enforced. SMUHSD Truancy/Tardy Policy

Lastly, we are continuing our Parent Education series on April 4th with a presentation of One Love. Alexis Becerra from our counseling department will be sharing information about healthy relationships. Our Juniors attended a similar presentation a few weeks ago. More information is on the flyer below.

Have an amazing week. Go Knights!

Hillsdale High School Foundation -

Message from Principle Gilbert

The Hillsdale High School Foundation has yet to reach our budgeted goal of $600K. We are currently at $485K and I hope you will help us close the gap by making an investment in your child’s education.

Our Foundation helps pay for salaries in our Small Learning Community (SLC) model which includes advisors, houses, and reduced class sizes in 9th and 10th grades. This model costs more but has proven to be extremely beneficial to our students and school community by fostering critical relationships. In addition, the Foundation Fund pays for professional development and collaboration time for our teachers. We also fund technology upgrades and grants to all our Boosters, PTSO, Peace Pantry and Empowerment Through Action.

When the Hillsdale community comes together, we enable our students to thrive and we can say "yes" to our faculty when they have a need.

Thank you!
