What's Happening at Hillsdale

Knights Families,

We know students, faculty, and staff are looking forward to the last class of today, as it marks the beginning of Spring Break! However you are planning to spend next week, we hope that you find time to relax and enjoy time with friends and loved ones.

Clue completed a weekend of performances on Sunday. Both the Killer and Mystery casts really shined in the Little Theater. Thanks to all who performed, those who came to support them, and those who worked to make the weekend such a success.

The Little Theater rests for no one. lol. If you're around tonight and want to enjoy some great music, join us for the 4th Annual Jazz with Friends Concert in the Little Theater. Jazz with Friends is an intimate and powerful night of Jazz, featuring our HHS Jazz Ensemble, Central Middle School Jazz Ensemble, Knight Train Jazz Combo, and a very special guest artist. Demitri Matheny will be playing Flugelhorn. Have you ever heard of a Flugelhorn? You can at this concert! We'd love to see you there!

Have you been watching March Madness? We've been having our own March Madness 3 x 3 tournament at lunch this week. Thanks to Leadership for organizing this community and spirit builder during this week of waiting for Spring Break to begin.

Do you enjoy golfing? Join the fun at our 16th annual Golf Tournament and support the HHS Athletics program. QR Code to sign up below.

Do you own a vacation home? Restaurant? Beauty/Wellness business? You can donate to the Golf Tournament auction. See details below.

Want to promote your business or know of one who might be interested? You can advertise in the Knight Moves XXV program. Knight Moves is always widely attended, so ads will be seen by many. You don't want to miss out! See details below.

You also don't want to miss out on our April PTSO meeting! Our monthly meetings keep you up-to-date on everything Hillsdale. All are welcome--and you can attend from the comfort of wherever you may be. We are having it virtually the day we return from Spring Break, Monday April 8. See flyer for login details.

Also when we return from break, our Juniors start their CAASPP testing and PTSO will be providing them with some special treats when they finish. It's always such a fun way to wrap up their testing week.

Senior families, don't forget to check the bulletin's Senior Corner for the latest and greatest happenings that are relevant to your current senior.

All families, don't forget to scroll all the way through the bulletin to make sure you don't miss anything!

Stay tuned for a Special Edition of our bulletin next week!

Until then....

Join the Team at the Hillsdale High School Foundation!

Happy it’s-almost-Spring-Break, everyone! This is Katherine Goodman, your friendly neighborhood HHSF Executive Director writing.  It’s with mixed feelings that I want to let y’all know that my family will be relocating to the Seattle area this June for my husband’s job.  While I’m excited to be moving up to the Pacific Northwest, I’m sad to be leaving the Hillsdale community behind.  It’s been so much fun getting to know all of you and a real honor to fundraise on behalf of the Small Learning Communities, and I’m going to miss Hillsdale a lot.

The Foundation is now accepting applications for the Executive Director role.  This is a part-time, paid position, reporting to Jeff Gilbert, Hillsdale’s Lead Principal, and the HHSF Board President.  You can read the formal job description for this position here, but here are the highlights:

  • Would you enjoy building relationships across the Hilldale community and coming up with content showcasing the Foundation’s work, our school, and the Small Learning Communities?
  • Would you like attending a wide assortment of school events to talk up the Foundation?
  • Do you have experience working with a nonprofit Board of Directors and managing complex projects that may involve multiple people and/or organizations?
  • Do you (and this is a big one) love to fundraise?

If you answered “yes” to these four questions, then the Executive Director role might be for you! The Foundation is looking to make a fast hire for this job, so brush up your resume and cover letter and send it on over to Hope Kavoosi, HHSF Board Vice President, at [email protected].

If you’re already employed and not looking to make a switch over to a different role, then consider joining the Foundation’s volunteer Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 school year.  This is an awesome and energetic group of people with a wide range of skills who come together to oversee the Foundation and make sure it’s meeting its mission of supporting Hillsdale’s Small Learning Communities.  You can read more about what the Board does on our website, and please feel free to reach out to me with any questions at [email protected].
