What's Happening at Hillsdale

Knights families,

We are SO so excited, May has started and things are moving along quickly...

Last week's golf tournament was a great time and we were able to raise funds for Athletics, as well as for individual sports via silent auction baskets. Thanks to all who golfed, attended the dinner, donated, and supported our Athletics program.

Yesterday was Knight Moves' opening night and it was such a great performance. We can't wait to see what the rest of the weekend holds! Didn't get tickets?? Not to worry, click here to purchase.

High school is a time when so many memories are made, for families and students. Make sure to remember those moments by purchasing a yearbook today before it's no longer available! Click here to purchase.

You can also keep memories alive by purchasing a Brick (More Info here) (at the football field entrance walkway or the Sciences/languages building patio) or Plaque (More Info here) (in the auditorium or little theater) Monies raised will go toward the Hillsdale Foundation.

On another Booster note, we have our monthly Athletics Booster Meeting on Monday at 7:00pm. On the proposed slate as the Athletics Boosters Board for 2025-2026 are

Co-Presidents: Stacey Sierra & Alicia Heneghan

VP: Jo Shelton

Sec: Megan DiMartini

Treasurer: Nancy Jones

Financial Sec: Amy Michael

Thanks to all who have offered to step up. We couldn't have successful booster groups without you!!

Last, and definitely not least, next week is our big Wicked themed Teacher and Staff Appreciation...we have quite the week of treats, prizes, and surprises in store. A tremendous amount of thanks to those who have donated in any way. We can't wait to share pictures, but for now, you’ll just have to get a sneak peek at some of what we have planned. (Flyer)

Until next week…

HHS Peace Pantry ~ Community Garden ~ Community Closet

May

“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” - Jane Goodall

Hillsdale Community,

The school year is coming to a close. There is so much to be thankful for this year. We want to thank the fifty plus volunteers who showed up on April 19th for our 3rd Annual Earth Day in the Garden. Volunteers of all ages and all connections to our school community prepared garden beds for new seedlings, pulled weeds, moved mulch and cleaned up. Big thank you to Adam Woo and his Eagle Scout Team for building six new garden beds made from redwood for our newest garden area. Thank you to the continued leadership of Pete Vanos for expert irrigation work to bring water to the new garden. A major thank you to District 2 County Supervisor Corzo who provided us with a $19,500 Measure K Grant to add infrastructure to our Peace Pantry and funding needed to expand our garden.

We want to offer our highest appreciation to our Community Closet Leadership Team. The team was intent on designing our new Community Closet so that students have a community space to shop for clothes and essential items on campus. On April 17th our team welcomed staff to our Open House. If you happen to see students Lauryn Matsumoto, Samantha Rank, Alva Sunil, Phoebe Lin and Lila Corkish around campus they are a reminder of student leadership at Hillsdale. We also want to thank HHS parents Alyssa Morimoto, Matt Kay and Greg Thornhill for their steady guidance and excellent craftsmanship in opening the new Community Closet.

On May 27th, we will celebrate the Five Year Anniversary of our Peace Pantry and Two Year Anniversary of our Community Closet. Volunteers from our Peace Pantry and Community Closet will be invited to our May 27 dinner in the garden at 5:30pm to celebrate their collective work on behalf of our school community for the 24-25 school year. In addition, we will recognize volunteers with individual awards who have gone above and beyond this year. All volunteers are welcome to this dinner.
