Solar Ovens

In Science class, Prisms have been designing solar ovens. Students experiment with different materials and shapes to harness the power of the sun to cook smores and better understand heat transfer.

All School

All School is at its usual time of 2:10 p.m. on Friday. This week the Reds and Prisms Math will share what they have been doing in class, and some Prisms will host. We will be singing the songs "Simple Gifts," and "Do a Deer." We hope you can join us.

Family Dance Postponed

Due to scheduling issues, the Family Dance will be postponed. The new date is to be determined, but we are working toward a new plan. 

Half Day Bussing

October 19th through 21st are early dismissal half days. All students of every grade will be dismissed at 11:50 am. Both the PTVA and Easthampton busses are scheduled to pick up students at noon that day. They will not pick up at 3 pm. If you have questions or issues, please contact the front office. 

Picture Day Details

This year, picture day is on Friday, October 14th. We should be receiving flyers soon, and they will be sent home with students as soon as we get them. Caregivers will get an email to let them know when flyers are being sent home. Each student will receive 2 flyers to take home. These flyers will have the code specific to that child on them, so they are not interchangeable. If a child has multiple households, try to ensure one flyer gets to each of them.

Emails from O'Connor Studios with this code will also go out to only one caregiver per child. We apologize for the inconvenience; this is a feature in the photographer's system in an effort to keep student information secure. If you are the caregiver who receives the email with the code, please share this code with any other caregivers your child has. You are the only person who can share this code since the school has no access. Families can order photo packages by sending the filled out flyer to school with their child on picture day or preordering photo packages online up until October 16th. After that, orders can be placed by calling the photography firm. These orders will simply arrive at a later date than the other photos.

Sibling photos will be offered again this year, but cannot be ordered online. Families with multiple students at Hilltown will receive a blank flyer to send with the oldest sibling on picture day. Put the oldest sibling's name and color class (for K-6) or homeroom (for Prisms) on the flyer, then specify which children will take a photo together. All School Set Up Help

Every Friday before All School, there is a fair bit of set up to do in preparation. We set up the bleachers, put out the chairs, check microphone batteries, etc. If you are able and willing to help, please come to the All School space at 1:50 p.m. on any given Friday, and let Rashida or Alex know that you're there to help.

Coffee Hour

The next caregiver Coffee Hour will be from 8:15am to 9:15am on Tuesday, October 18th. There will also be tea available for my fellow coffee averse humans. Come foster connections with other Hilltown families!

Allsport Arena

Allsport Arena in Northampton is back! Registration is now open for November leagues, clinics and pickup games for both kids and adults. From our Budding Stars soccer clinic for K-2 to a fun night of Adult Pickup Volleyball, there is something for everyone. We hope you’ll join us for some soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee, a birthday party, or other activity.

*We want all young kids who are excited to play to be able to get on the field. Limited scholarships are available, contact us for more information.

Zing! Table Tennis Open House

We welcome all Hilltown students to join us for our FREE October 15th, 2022 Junior Open House. Zing! Table Tennis Center is on Pleasant Street - a direct 2 minute drive from the Hilltown school. If your children have friends they are welcome to sign up as well. It will be an action-packed event with many activities, free refreshments and lots of fun learning. Parents are fully welcome too.
