PROJECT TYPE: Roadway
PROJECT LOCATION: The intersection of Vermont Route 116, Shelburne Falls Road and CVU Road in the town of Hinesburg.
PROJECT SCOPE: Construction activities include road widening on VT Route 116, Shelburne Falls Road and CVU Road for the addition of new turn lanes and replacement of the existing traffic signal. Culverts on Route 116, Ballards Corner Road, Shelburne Falls Road and Pleasant View Lane will be replaced as part of the project.
Planned Construction Activities:
The contractor is scheduled to complete some digging along the east and west side of Route 116 near the mast arm foundations. Lane closures will not be in effect on Monday.
Crews will be pulling wires (for the new signal system) through the conduit Tuesday through Friday next week. Lane closures and flagged traffic will be required on Tuesday. Please expect delays.
Holiday: In observance of Thanksgiving, crews will cease operations at noon today (Wednesday, 11/25/20). Work will resume on Monday, 11/30/20 at 7:00 AM.
The traveling public can expect alternating one-way traffic on Tuesday, 12/1. Expect minor delays throughout the day. Although not anticipated at this time, an alternating one way traffic pattern may be required at various points throughout the week of 11/30. Minor, intermittent delays may result.
As part of Governor Scott’s “Work Smart, Stay Safe” order, all construction crews are currently subject to certain safety restrictions.
