Join us as we celebrate the traditional festival of Dia De Los Muertos with live music, dance, art, vendors, family activities, and an outdoor showing of CoCo.
Dia De Los Muertos is a celebration of life, a tradition where we remember our loved ones as they were in life, we cherish the moments we had with them, and reflect on our own mortality. Through this festival we recognize the true value and the beauty of living keeping our loved one's alive in our memories.
We will have all kinds of activities for the entire family to enjoy. Come listen to live music and traditional dances. we will have a vendor village and food trucks, plus art installations and ofrendas to our ancestors.
We encourage people to come dressed up or in calavera (skull) makeup, but we will also have face painting stations to get into the spirit. We will also have Sugar skull decorating where you can customize your own skull to take home and place on your own ofrenda. All the art activities and the event itself is free and open to everyone.
We hope that we are able to connect different communities and cultures here in Waco and celebrate life together. So mark your calendars and experience El Dia De Los Muertos.
This is a community art effort and if you want to get involved or volunteer then please reach out. We are getting teams together to make sugar skulls, decorations, volunteer to do face painting etc etc.
We will be having an in person meetup for people and vendors interested in being a part of the festival in October.
