Registration remains available for all three Historic Half Weekend events on May 19 including the 13.1 Half, the Semper 5ive Miler and the Devil Dog Double. This year, the time requirement for the Double has been extended to 10:30 per mile. Meet that pace to complete the Semper 5ive course before turning around and running the Historic Half. All three distance challenges feature a run up Hospital Hill. On May 1, registration for the Historic Half jumps by $20 so spread the word to register ASAP. 
The Healthy Lifestyle Expo presented by VA Runner happens on May 17-18 at the Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center. Alongside Packet Pick-up and T-shirt distribution, the Expo features more than 50 exhibitor booths including Brooks Running, Mary Washington Healthcare, 26.2 Beer, GEICO and the Planters NUTMobile. Expo hours are from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17 and 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.   

Celebrate the Historic Half at Eden Try Winery. Tickets are available to the Historic Half VIP dinner on Saturday, May 18 from 5:30-9:00 p.m. at this stunning 12-acre estate and private winery in historic Fredericksburg, VA. Shuttle transportation from the Healthy Lifestyle Expo to the VIP event will be provided. There will be no on-site parking available.

Join Marine Corps leadership and Fredericksburg officials at this celebratory gathering for a BBQ dinner, entertainment and a special guest Marine Corps speaker. The award winning wedding venue will offer wine tastings for the first hour of the program for those age 21 and older. Guests can stroll the acres of manicured lawns, grape vines, terraced gardens, walking paths and ancient tree lines. A limited number of $40 tickets are available for purchase.
Running specialty store, VA Runner , hosts training runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays leading up to the Historic Half. The program will feature hill repeats, long miles and fun speed workouts. Along with Brooks Running, the training events will feature opportunities to meet new running friends and win some swag. Upcoming training events include April 20 -Ten mile run; April 24 -Five mile tempo workout; May 4 -Ten Mile run; May 8 -Five mile fartlek workout. 
Free shuttles provided by the City of Fredericksburg and Trolley Tours of Fredericksburg will be available for all runners and their families. The shuttles will run from 9:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. The shuttles will run to and from the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center's main entrance to historic downtown locations including Hurkamp Park, the Visitor Center and Goolricks Pharmacy featuring an old fashioned soda fountain.

Take in the beauty of the Rappahannock River or shop in the antique stores in downtown as part of an adventurous Historic Half Weekend.  
Earn the coveted Distinguished Participant medal, presented to over 300 runners in 2018. Participate in one of the Historic Half Weekend events, then run with the Marines in June, August and November to complete the four event requirement. Choose between Run Amuck , Recon Ruck , Crossroads Challenge or the Belleau Wood 8K in June; the Quantico Tri or 12K in August; and then run the Turkey Trot in November.
Recognized as the  Iron Mile Company , 126 runners have reached the Historic Half finish line every year since 2008. That’s 11 consecutive finishes! The quest for a solid dozen is underway among the 46 females and 80 males that make up this dedicated group. 
  





For the first time ever, the Runcoach online program and app are now FREE for all Historic Half participants. The Runcoach program has helped thousands of finishers run their best on event day. This is a uniquely qualified program that combines a dynamic app with real coaches to guide runners every step of the way. Options to join the training team: iPhone/Android App or Online .
Still interested in running the MCM in October? Entries remain available through the all-inclusive Four Star Registration Package . The bundle includes hotel stay of two or three nights at the Gaylord National Resort; MCM entries; shuttle transportation; pre- and post-event hospitality; and access to special events. MCM entries are also available through the Charity Partner Program .
The 6.2 mile run from the National Mall to the Marine Corps War Memorial happens on October 27, the same morning as the Marine Corps Marathon. Registration opens on April 24 and costs $60. 





Run Amuck stands alone as the hands-down, push-yourself, have-a-blast, good-times-for-all, make-a-mess, must-do event. It’s all parts fun and just enough run. All finishers receive special challenge coin. Compete as an all-out warrior or engage in the fun as a family. The mud and obstacle event happens on June 15 aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico. Participate in Run Amuck and either the Ruck or 8K as part of a double event competition known as the Crossroads Challenge.
Tackle an 11-mile course aboard Quantico wearing an appropriately weighted pack. Accomplish this endeavor and earn a collectable Velcro patch-an esteemed addition to any backpack. Registration is open now for the June 15 event. 
Commemorating the battle that earned the Marines the nickname “Devil Dogs.” The 4.97 mile run takes runners through the hills and trails of Quantico. Finishers earn a medal. The 8K will be held on June 15 aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico.
