Happy Birthday, Woodrow Wilson! Each year, a U.S. military general or naval flag officer lays a wreath at the gravesite of each deceased U.S. president on his birthday. Today, the wreath was laid at the tomb of Woodrow Wilson at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Prayers were said for both the President and First Lady Edith Bolling Wilson who died on this day in 1961.
The ceremony is always well attended, and it is a beautiful reminder of our history, culture and traditions.
In that same vein, we are reminded of the history, culture and tradition of giving during this time of year. Like many non-profit organizations, the Wilson House museum relies on the generosity of donors and patrons for support. This year, two members of the museum’s Advisory Council are EACH matching dollar for dollar, every dollar raised, up to $20,000.
What does that mean for the museum? If we raise $20,000 by December 31, we will have actually raised $60,000 for the museum. If you find the mission and the impact of the Wilson House worthy of your support, please make a donation today and TRIPLE the impact of your donation.
Ever wonder who is behind the match? Meet Cary Fuller from Edith Wilson’s family who grew up in this historic house, and Ed Gerber who has been part of the museum for more than 50 years starting as a volunteer during his college days at Georgetown. Today, both sit on the Council and are matching your donation. Please help us by matching their spirit of generosity and donate today.
