Whiskey History_ A Spirited Summer Series.
Whiskey History: A Spirited Summer Series

Have you ever sat in your chair by the fireplace, surrounded by many leather-bound books, and wondered about the whiskey you've been quietly sipping? No? We haven't either, but it's actually an interesting question -- what's the history behind whiskey?

As it happens, you can find out all kinds of interesting facts in our Whiskey History series. Held the second Wednesday of each month this summer, and hosted by Heritage Frederick (formerly the Historical Society of Frederick County), join us as we delve into whiskey's amazing past.

The series kicks off next week with Prohibition in Frederick presented by Tenth Ward Distilling Company's owner and co-founder, Kyle Pfalzer. Pfalzer will discuss local personalities who tried to profit from prohibition, their exploits, and the national events that led to their criminal activity.

Prohibition in Frederick // June 14 at 7:00pm
Whiskey in the Civil War // July 12 at 7:00pm
History of Maryland Rye // August 9 at 7:00pm

After each free lecture, tickets may be purchased to taste local whiskey. (Must be 21 or over to purchase tasting tickets.) Proceeds benefit Heritage Frederick.

All events will be held at Heritage Frederick, 24 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701.
