History brought to life through puppetry
The Community Foundation of West Georgia and the cast of Grasshopper Tea and the Basement of Wonder along with the Carrollton Center for the Arts brought the history of West Georgia to life in an amazing show for CES 3rd and 4th graders this week. Students got a thrill learning about the history of our area and even saw some famous faces from the Trojan Nation!
CHS Performing Arts presents "You Can't Take It With You"
Carrollton High School Performing Arts presents “You Can't Take It With You.” First brought to the stage in 1936, the play is an eccentric, idealistic comedy that reinforces the idea that you can only live life to the fullest by doing whatever makes you happy. The performance will be Thursday, Feb. 17 at 7:00 pm in the Holcombe Theater of the Mabry Center for the Arts on the campus of Carrollton High School. Tickets are $5. Additionally, tickets can be purchased in the Carrollton High School front office, the performing arts office, or at the door the night of the show. CUES Science Club visit Fortson 4-H Center
Last week, students in the CUES Science Club visited the Fortson 4-H Center. Every year, thousands of students from all across the state enjoy the day and overnight Environmental Education Program. Classes are engaging and hands-on and immerse students in the natural environment to actively apply concepts learned in the classroom. 
CJHS band welcomes special visitors
Recently, the CJHS band had special visitors from the high school. High school band members sat in and played with the 8th graders and answered questions about what it’s like to be a part of the band in high school. It won't be long before these students transition to CHS!
CCS participates in "On the Table" community-wide initiative
Carrollton City Schools participated in the "On the Table" community-wide initiative Wednesday to join together over a meal and talk about important issues that impact our local community. CCS is grateful to the Community Foundation of West Georgia for setting the table so community members could have these important conversations.
Coach Tim Criswell spoke at the 2019 Ben Scott Sports Auction. Due to the ongoing pandemic, this was the last auction held in person.
35th annual Ben Scott Sports Auction to be held next month
For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, Carrollton High School’s annual Ben Scott Sports Auction will return to an in-person event this spring. The last two auctions were held online because of health and safety concerns.

There will be a COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Wednesday, Feb. 16. First, second and third doses will be available for all staff, students and Trojan families.
