WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT
Why do it and why do it for free?
Quincy
Once upon a time, not so long ago, there was an incredible dog that changed my life. His name was Quincy.

Thanks to Quincy, I know many of my current friends and many of the DogsLifeKC readers. AND, it because of him and for him that  DogsLifeKC.com was created.

Together, Quincy and I went out and met so many wonderful people here in Kansas City and we were invited to participate in loads of wonderful things. When we told our friends of our weekend adventures, few people could believe that Kansas City was really dog friendly and it is!

Thus, DogsLifeKC.com was born!

DogsLifeKC strongly supports public education about dogs, dog health, dog breeds and responsible ownership. And, our goal is to actively encourage people to get out and do more with their dogs.

You might ask...why?

Our goal is to make the dogs in Kansas City active members of their families by providing knowledge of training, educational and social opportunities for dogs and their families.

It is our belief that the more dogs are active with their families, the less likely they are to end up in rescues and shelters.

We have the website that lists dogs events, fundraisers and classes to encourage people to get out and do more with their dogs! And, we have the Facebook page and this newsletter, too. AND, we run these without charge to people because we believe so strongly in this.

Yes, you read that correctly, we post information on dog-related events, workshops, training classes and events FREE of charge. AND we share that with the public.

If you have an event, workshop or class to share, let us know! We post those free on our calendar and in our newsletter. Have a class or know of something cool the KC dog-loving public needs to know about, share it with us!

So, send us your information!  Contact Nicki via email: Editorial@DogsLifeKC.com or you can call us: (913) 633-3207.

Kansas City Disc Dog Play Date

Kansas City Disc Dogs will host it's "Second Sunday" Play date. Everyone is welcome to come out - whether your dog already plays frisbee or if you are just wanting to see if they might. There will be KCDD members there to help answer questions and everyone will get a chance to take the field and play with their pups.

We are only allowed to have one dog off leash at a time here - that is our agreement with the park, so please keep your dog leashed or in a crate while they are waiting for their turn to play. We will have a sign up so we can all take turns on the field.

We will be working on some basic toss and fetch, some help with throwing skills, and getting ready for next weeks competition in Gladstone.

Bring your dog, water, crates, discs and come out for the first Kemper play date of the season!

It is up to each person interested in participating in any event or training with their dog, including our events, to do the research to determine which activity or training method would suit their dog and his or her abilities as well as health. It is also important to consider your own personal feelings, philosophies, health and limitations. When in doubt, consult a licensed veterinarian and or physician.

DogsLifeKC does NOT CHARGE for our e-newsletter or advertising of events in our e-newsletter, calendars, Facebook or Twitter accounts. We do this purely as a public service to the general dog-loving public.

It is our belief that if a dog is trained, they are more likely to become productive members of their family. And, if a dog is taken out to dog-centric events or join their family at places where dogs are welcome, they are not only productive family members, they're less likely to end up in rescue or a shelter.

Remember, listings on our site are purely that, listings. They are not a personal endorsement by DogsLifeKC or members of Our Pack. Listings are provided simply as a courtesy and are for entertainment purposes only.
