"Katy said it was something she will never forget: the whole arena went dark and attendees turned on their cellphones, creating a star-like atmosphere. Every attendee was asked to take a Hockey Fights Cancer poster and write down the name of someone in their life they fight for."

Katy and Kassy are supported through the Bryan Murray Legacy Fund.
"I'd like to thank the CHEO Foundation for supporting us through the Bryan Murray Legacy Fund and to Dr. Dugald Seely, ND and every other health professional that welcomed both our kids into the CHI. The health resources supported Katy a tremendous amount after receiving 22 rounds of chemo and many surgeries, and Kassy with her autoimmune issues. Thank you to everyone at the CHI and CHEO for continuing to help our kids through their journeys of good health."

- Mark & Crissy MacLennan, Parents of Katy & Kassy

Thank you to the Senators for hosting a memorable night for our staff, patients and supporters!

Many CHI and CHEO staff and patients were also a part of the special event and held flags at the game.
"Thank you kindly for a great evening out with the family; we enjoyed ourselves very much and loved the terrific view from our seats." - Vesna Zic-Cote

Dr. Dugald Seely, ND, CEO of the Centre for Health Innovation and Bryan Murray's daughter Brittany, talk about Bryan's Legacy Fund which is managed by the CHEO Foundation
Bryan Murray, former General Manager of the Ottawa Senators was a cancer patient. Bryan's wish was for everyone to have access to the integrative cancer care he received, no matter their financial circumstance.

The Bryan Murray Legacy Fund subsidizes integrative cancer care for patients at CHEO with childhood cancer and their families at the Centre for Health Innovation.

The CHEO Foundation manages The Bryan Murray Legacy Fund to provide for this funded care at the CHI. Eligible pediatric cancer patients are able to apply directly to CHEO for subsidies from The Bryan Murray Legacy Fund.

“About half of the patients with a new diagnosis at CHEO ask their oncologist about integrative cancer care options. Being able to offer a subsidy for our patients in need of financial support to access integrative care makes a huge difference to families struggling with a diagnosis and wanting access to integrative care.”
– Dr. Donna Johnston, Chief, Division of Hematology/Oncology at CHEO
