Enjoy Coffee With the Village Board This Saturday

Coffee With The Board

The Hoffman Estates Village Board will host a Coffee with the Board event on Saturday, April 20, at 10 a.m. in the Council Chambers at Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road.



This informal meet-and-greet provides a relaxed forum where the community can speak with Mayor McLeod and Trustees. Residents are invited to enjoy a cup of coffee, express opinions, ask questions and provide input on items of interest in the community.

Sustainability Commission Hosting Solar Power Hour This Saturday

Join the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) and the Hoffman Estates Sustainability Commission for a free presentation on solar energy and its benefits on Saturday, April 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Rd.


During the Solar Power Hour, a CUB expert will explain solar programs and incentives, why clean energy is more affordable and reliable, and how policies like the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act impact consumers. 


A Hoffman Estates Building Official will also be available to answer questions about the permitting and inspection process for solar panel installation in the Village. In Hoffman: Infrastructure Improvements 2024

The Village’s FY2024 budget includes funding for an expanded Capital Improvement Program, with investments being made for needed infrastructure improvements throughout Hoffman Estates. 


These investments include $9.4 million for water projects, $3 million of which is earmarked for water main replacements; a robust street revitalization program of nearly $6 million for 27 resurfacing and four reconstruction projects; a $1.3 million sidewalk replacement program; ongoing stormwater projects; a collector street light improvement program; and a new tree removal and replacement program to address declining tree species.

Spring Branch Pick-up Begins By Zone on Monday

The free curbside spring tree branch pickup program through Hoffman Estates Public Works begins this Monday, April 22, starting with Zone A (all streets north of the Tollway (I-90) and all streets west of route 59).


To participate, residents in Zone A should neatly stack branches at the curbside by 7 a.m. Monday morning with cut ends facing toward the street. Do not tie branches in bundles or place in any container. Do not allow branches to protrude into the street or block sidewalks. Please note that only one collection pass will be made for each street with no exceptions. If branches are too large, are mixed with unacceptable materials or have not been prepared properly, they will not be picked up.


Public Works crews WILL accept:

  • Tree branches no larger than 8 inches in diameter or 10 feet in length
  • Shrub trimmings and similar brush
  • Branches from willow trees if separated from other materials


Public Works crews will NOT accept:

  • Tree trunks, stumps or root balls
  • Firewood
  • Railroad ties or landscape timbers
  • Grass clippings, leaves, sod, plants or yard waste


This program is offered to residents covered by the Village's refuse collection contract.


While supplies last, free wood chips will be available to residents at the Village's vehicle maintenance facility, 2405 Pembroke Ave., during daylight hours after 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during daylight hours on weekends. Please bring your own containers.

Health and Human Services Department Offering Couples Workshop April 27

Couples Workshop

The Health & Human Services Department is offering a free couples workshop, Digging Deeper in Love, to offer an opportunity for couples to revisit their emotional connections, build on their communication skills and plant seeds for future growth as a couple. 


Digging Deeper in Love is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Rd., and is open to all couples ages 18 and over. RSVP to Nadine Kademoglou by email at Nadine.Kademoglou@vohe.org or call 847-781-4868. Registration deadline is April 19.

Save the Date: Hoffman Estates Charitable Foundation Golf Outing Scheduled for July 24

The Hoffman Estates Charitable Foundation is hosting the Hope Fore Hoffman golf tournament on Wednesday, July 24 at Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club, with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Health and Human Services Department's Self-Help Fund, which supports free vaccination clinics, low-cost counseling, medical lending closets, health screenings, and more.

Fire Department Offering CPR Course May 11

CPR Course

The Hoffman Estates Fire Department is offering a Heartsaver CPR/AED course on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at Hoffman Estates Fire Station #24, 5775 Beacon Pointe Dr.  


Pre-registration is required; class sizes are limited. The cost of the course is $50 per person. Call the Hoffman Estates Fire Department Administration Office at 847-843-4825 by May 7 to register. Visit the Fire Department's website for the full 2024 CPR course schedule.

Chamber of Commerce Hosting Bon Appétit Festival Tonight

The Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Bon Appétit Food and Drink Festival at Bell Works Chicagoland, 2000 Center Dr., Hoffman Estates, tonight, April 18 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. 


This festival features cuisine from around the world, prepared by restaurants throughout the northwest suburbs. Admission is $40 at the door. Visit the Hoffman Estates Chamber’s website at hechamber.com to learn more.
