We hope you'll join us for the dedication of Gainesville's new nature center!
The City of Gainesville’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department and Wild Spaces & Public Places program are pleased to invite you to celebrate the city's newest nature center.
A dedication ceremony will be followed by guided tours of the center. Enjoy light refreshments, explore the educational tables, experience a self-guided eye spy activity and explore the nature park's TRACK Trail.
Renovations on the circa 1890 farm house at Hogtown Creek Headwaters Nature Park were completed in 2021. The interior has since been developed into a nature center for the Gainesville community.
The renovation cost was approximately $478,000. Partial funding for the nature center was provided by Alachua County Wild Spaces & Public Places tax dollars.Click hereto view photos of the nature center’s renovation.
Collected from January 2017 to December 2024, the sales tax will continue to create, improve and maintain parks and recreational facilities and acquire and improve environmentally-sensitive lands. To sign up for updates, please visit www.WildSpacesPublicPlacesGNV.org.
