Kids, Teens, & Families
Scott County Library Newsletter
October
2018
|
As usual, this newsletter is full of fun for kids and teens, like Hogwarts Prep, Marble Mania, and ACT Test Prep (okay, not fun, but super helpful).
In a new twist, however, we want to tell you about an event just for adults: the Escape the Upside Down escape room fundraiser inspired by Stranger Things and hosted by our library Teen Advisory Board. For a fraction of the cost of a commercial escape room, you can enjoy a great night out with friends or family. More information and signup

Hogwarts Prep & Yule Ball
We're excited to announce the first of our Hogwarts Prep workshops! Get ready for Halloween or Yule Ball by making a scarf, badge, and tie in the house colors of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. The event is free but register at the link below by 10/11 to guarantee your spot!
Sun 10/14, 2-4pm at Shakopee
Watch for more Hogwarts Prep classes coming soon in November and December. Why? To prepare for the fabulous Yule Ball for ages 10-18 taking place on New Year's Eve in Club Prior at the Prior Lake Library. Squeeee!
(Too young for Yule Ball? No worries, we'll also have Noon Year's Eve party for littles and their families on 12/31.)
Marble Mania Drop-In Event
Sat 10/27, 10:30am-Noon at New Prague
Join the New Prague Historical Society for a fun and free event: Czech out the fantastic Marble display, then play a fun marble game, plus kids will get to take home their own marble to keep!
