NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL CALL
The Indianapolis Art Center announces a call for entry to their "Women’s Work" exhibition, a juried exhibition centered on gender and feminist politics. Historically, women have been excluded from the art world, from being kept out of academies and apprenticeships to being woefully underrepresented in galleries and museums today. Along with this, the art skills that were deemed feminine or appropriate for women, such as sewing, embroidery or weaving are dismissed as “just” crafts and hobbies. This exhibition, open to women-identified and non-binary artists from the local and national community, seeks to highlight female artists and intersectionality in femininity. Application deadline is May 12, 2021. Learn more.

Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) invites artists worldwide to enter “Food for Thought.” Artwork reflecting the creation, preparation, consumption or communal aspect of food will be eligible for this online exhibition.
From farm to table, from fields and gardens, from land and sea – food sustains our bodies as art sustains our souls. And, in safer times, we gather at meals to celebrate; when times are tough, we work as a community to feed our neighbors. This all-media MFA exhibition will display the juror’s selections in their Online Sales Gallery from June 15-July 31, 2021. Application deadline is May 6, 2021. Learn more.
