Holiday Break 2022

Hello MSW students! We all have officially wrapped up the Fall semester (yay!) and are off to a much deserved break! We hope this is a time for relaxation and celebration for you!

Just a couple of reminders from your Advising Team before the New Year

Quick Advisor Updates

We will continue to send out monthly Advisor Updates (through Constant Contact) highlighting upcoming events, and important information regarding programming! (These will be coming out at the end of each month, in preparation for the next.) Be sure to read/review carefully! We plan to send one during the week of 1/3/23 – in preparation for the Spring semester!

Re: Fall 2022 grades - Be on the lookout for communication from your Advisor re: ASSRs/confirmation of grade policy. We are planning to complete them the first week of January, so a prompt response regarding availability would be appreciated.

We will be checking class lists for Spring 2023, to make sure that everyone is registered for the correct courses/sections - and will reach out if something needs to be changed.

Reminder – The University is closed 12/23-1/2/23. All units will re-open on 1/3/23.

The MSW Program is hosting a Welcome (Back) Event on January 9 at Baker Hall! If you are in the area, or would like to be in the area – we would LOVE to see you! Stop by to connect with other students, prospective students, and the School of SW!

Student Support Coordinator Updates

Lending Library

Don't know where to donate textbooks you don't want to keep after you're done with them? The lending Library will be taking textbook donations beginning this semester! Location and times for dropoffs will be shared in the next newsletter.

For those looking to take out books, availability will be limited.

MSW Flint Programs and Events Survey

The Student Support Coordinator is looking for feedback about events and programs specifically in the Flint area. This will help him curate programmatic efforts for Spring 2023. The survey will close mid-January and will only take a few minutes to complete. If you have any questions, please email him at [email protected].
