Aaron Otheim is a keyboardist, composer, and sound designer whose eclectic career bridges classical training with experimental and improvised music. Originally from the Pacific Northwest and now based in Southern California, Aaron’s work spans a broad range of musical realms, from jazz and indie rock to avant-garde collaborations.


This year, Aaron toured with Fleet Foxes as their keyboardist. He also performs with Mega Bog, Molly Lewis, and Heatwarmer, contributing intricate keyboard arrangements to both live and recorded projects. Beyond his work in performance and recording, Aaron has composed for choreographer Kate Wallich (Dance Church) and developed soundscapes for interdisciplinary works across theater and dance.


As a co-founder of Seattle’s Racer Sessions, an internationally-recognized experimental music series, Aaron has furthered his generation’s exploration of new musical ideas and group improvisation. His artistic practice balances meticulous execution with spontaneous creativity, emphasizing harmony, sound design, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
