Holly Jolly Day at
Behringer Crawford December 16th,
10 am to 5 pm

Fort Wright Residents are invited to visit Behringer Crawford Museum, FREE OF CHARGE on Saturday, December 16th.

Celebrate the warmth and spirit of an old-fashioned Christmas this holiday season at Behringer-Crawford Museum. A Window Through Time opens Nov. 11, with vintage feather Christmas trees, antique German ornaments, toys and more donated by Mary and Pat Ashcraft. Kids will get a kick out of the Carman Miranda tutti-frutti trees full of color and bling like the Brazilian samba singer or the finely dressed teddy bears at an enchanted plum pudding party. Also, enjoy a reading of the holiday classic, Polar Express and make a holiday craft to take home beginning at 11 am on the 16th; and of course the entire museum will be decked out in its holiday splendor.

Visit the charming displays of limited edition Lilliput Lane collectibles with realistic British cottages and scenes handmade in England. Then, take a trip into the mind of the 19th century author Charles Dickens as you enter his study where he tells tales of the penny-pinching Ebeneezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol with Dickens-themed decor and Department 56 villages on display.

And of course, an antique Christmas is not complete without the huffing and puffing of the Holiday Toy Trains. A holiday tradition since 1992, the exhibit features eight O-gauge Lionel model trains circling over 250 feet of track, chug chugging beside thirty moving accessories. With the press of the button, guests can activate lights and motions, becoming immersed .

It is all part of BCM's Holly Jolly Days; a celebration of family-centered fun and attractions at the museum from Nov. 11 through Jan. 7, which also includes Winter Wonderland, an outdoor holiday light show that winds through the NaturePlay@BCM playscape.
CHRISTMAS TREE
RECYCLING PROGRAM

The holiday season is just gearing up, but the end of the season is already looming too. In preparation of the momentous task of un-decorating, we would like to remind and encourage anyone who has a live Christmas tree to recycle it instead of just putting it out in the trash.

Christmas Tree Recycling is easy to do. Simply remove all ornaments, tinsel, lights, and any other artificial decorations and drop your "live" tree at our designated drop zone. This year's drop zone will once again be located at City Hall, 409 Kyles Lane, Fort Wright, KY. Look for the tree-corral in the vicinity of the Guardian Angel Garden found on the north east side of the city building.

Christmas Tree Drop-Off will begin on Sunday, December 26th, 2023 and end Sunday, January 14th, 2024.

Once the collection time has passed the Kenton County Public Works Department will turn the trees into mulch that will be used at a future date.

Christmas Tree Recycling is offered "Free of Charge" to anyone wishing to drop off their live tree. For more information please do not hesitate to contact us at 859.331.1700 or via email at [email protected]
