Greetings,
The holiday season is upon us and with its arrival we take a moment to pause. We pause to give thanks for a generous year that allowed us to begin this new venture. We pause to reflect on the spirit of the Christmas season and to remind ourselves to slow down so that we may take in its mystery, magic and joy.
This simple poem by Mary Oliver captures the tone perfectly for us:
Instructions for Living a Life:
Pay attention.
Be astonished.
Tell about it.
We are excited to announce our next exhibition, "Fahoo fores, dahoo dores...", which will open on Sat. December 9th. The exhibition takes its title from the Christmas song sung by the Whos in Whoville, in the delightful holiday classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. "Fahoo fores, dahoo dores..." is a group exhibition of sixteen artists featuring a selection of paintings, works on paper, ceramics, mixed media sculpture and photography of stylistic and thematic range. We hope you'll join us for the opening reception with the artists on Sat. Dec. 9th from 2-4pm.*
*Please note that the gallery will remain open following the reception to coincide with the town of High Falls tree-lighting festivities just outside our doors. Additionally, we will have extended gallery hours beginning December 15th, opening Fridays through Sundays, 10am-6pm.
We look forward to seeing you and sharing some holiday cheer!
Janice + Simon
