Recently, Director Rick Littlefield and Girls Director Christy Guttierez were delighted to share a Zoom call with alumnus William “Bill” Saunders.
Bill is a former second generation camper. His father, William Saunders, and his brother, started the tradition in the early/mid 1930’s. He became a camper in 1968 and attended camp for three consecutive years. He has fond memories of his cabins: Warrenton (1968), Gamewell (1969), and Montfichet (1970). At the time Bill was a camper in Montfichet, Rick Littlefield was a senior in high school!
Bill has always had an adventurous spirit and has always been surrounded by water. A former woodworker, Bill has been a software engineer for over 40 years. He still loves sailing! “Sailing is part of my Robin Hood heritage," mentions Bill.
The last time Bill visited Robin Hood was around six years ago, with camp friends. He has always tried to keep in touch with Robin Hood and friends who still live in Mount Desert Island.
