Holiday 2022 Edition

Holiday Message from Director Rick Littlefield

Rick and Robin Littlefield with daughters Tanya and Jasmin, and first grandchild Hudson (12 months).

Say the magic words

When was the last time you said thank you to your parents, family, or friends, and told them that you love them?

The most special gift you can give your parents, family, and friends is to express gratitude. Try it! Then give them long hugs and tell them you love them.

Happy Holidays! -Rick Littlefield

New York City Bowling Party Camper Reunion

Sunday, November 13

A group of some of the New York City bowlers at the camper reunion.

After more than 50 years of high school reunions and countless camp reunions, I forget how special they can be. The New York City Bowling Party Camper Reunion was an inspiration of campers and parents connecting with friends and making new ones. Almost all of the more than four dozen campers and parents who attended seemed happy they came. I was one of the happiest.

Catching up with alumnus Bill Saunders

Recently, Director Rick Littlefield and Girls Director Christy Guttierez were delighted to share a Zoom call with alumnus William “Bill” Saunders.

Bill is a former second generation camper. His father, William Saunders, and his brother, started the tradition in the early/mid 1930’s. He became a camper in 1968 and attended camp for three consecutive years. He has fond memories of his cabins: Warrenton (1968), Gamewell (1969), and Montfichet (1970). At the time Bill was a camper in Montfichet, Rick Littlefield was a senior in high school!

Bill has always had an adventurous spirit and has always been surrounded by water. A former woodworker, Bill has been a software engineer for over 40 years. He still loves sailing! “Sailing is part of my Robin Hood heritage," mentions Bill.

The last time Bill visited Robin Hood was around six years ago, with camp friends. He has always tried to keep in touch with Robin Hood and friends who still live in Mount Desert Island.

We want to hear from our RH alumni! Contact [email protected] if you are an alumnus, or have the contact information of an alumnus.

Look who's returning to Maine in 2023... so far

We are excited to announce that Director Arpan Trivedi (India), Golf Director and PGA Pro Dave De Heras (USA), and Rocks & Ropes Director Gustavo de la Cruz (Colombia) have all signed on so far for 2023! In addition, many campers will be happy to hear that popular Head of Circus Juan Otoya Cortes (Colombia) will return. Many other amazing counselors have also signed their contracts and it is shaping up to be an outstanding staff for 2023.
