HOLIDAY GREETINGS!

2019 has been an exciting year for TeamSmile. We successfully ran 33 programs with a combination of partnerships with NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and MLS teams. Through our outreach, we have provided free dental care to over 6,000 children amounting to roughly $2.5 million in free dental care and oral health education. During 2019, we surpassed TeamSmile’s 220 th overall program, and have now – collectively, over the life of TeamSmile – served over 35,000 children and provided over $18 million in free dental care and oral health education.

All of this happens due to the generous donations made by many throughout the country. It is with your support that we are able to continue with the mission that was started by Dr. William Busch and Jason Krause back in 2007, and expand our footprint moving forward. As we close out 2019 and enter 2020, we ask that you keep TeamSmile in mind as you consider making year-end charitable donations. Every donation makes an impact and enables TeamSmile to continue generating smiles on children’s faces, while they are receiving much needed dental care.

You may make your tax-deductible contribution through our website at www.teamsmile.org/donate , or by sending a check (made out to TeamSmile) to 2000 Swift Street, North Kansas City, MO 64119. Contributions received by December 31 will be tax-deductible in the 2019 calendar year. Please know that your support is greatly appreciated.

The TeamSmile Board and Staff would like to wish you a Happy Holiday Season and Healthy New Year. Thank you for all that you do for TeamSmile.

Sincerely,

Greg Meagher

My Cause My Cleats
My Cause My Cleats allows NFL players to express their commitment to the causes that are most important to them.

For the third consecutive year Dustin Colquitt will be representing TeamSmile.

“Coach Toub’s daughter actually designed these, and top to bottom, everything is done. It’s a whole new shoe. It’s a piece of art,” Colquitt said. “I think the cool part about TeamSmile is there’s immediate gratification about changing kids’ lives. They come in and they’re not happy with what’s going on in their mouths, and 20 minutes later, they have this smile that their parents haven’t seen in years. It’s a really cool thing and I’m always excited to rep them.”

TeamSmile Volunteer Chatter
"I loved watching the youngest participants in the program connect with the NCAPS students. They held their hands, encouraged them, and played with them at the end of the day. It was amazing watching these high school kids give back to the little ones in our community. The smiles on their faces said it all. It was an honor just to see it all happen."
-KC Chiefs Volunteer

"I had two of the sweetest little boys. One came back to my station to give me a hug and say "he had a great day!". The other couldn't wait to get out of the chair to meet Falcons player, Jamon Brown. Jamon made this kid's day!"
-Atlanta Falcons Volunteer
“ I wanted to help provide disadvantaged children the same access to and opportunity to dental care that I was privileged to have growing up."
- Minnesota Vikings Volunteer
I love helping and volunteering my time with people in need. I was hoping to see happy kids and everyone was happy everywhere I looked. Team Smile is amazing." - Anaheim Angels Volunteer

Happy Holidays from the TeamSmile Staff!
Volunteer Spotlight
Daryl Garton
Daryl Garton volunteers for our Kansas City programs. He is always enthusiastic with any task we give him. Not only does he volunteer for the duration of the dental clinic hours but, will stay after to help the TeamSmile crew break down and load the equipment. Thank you, Daryl, for going above and beyond.

"What could be more fun than an opportunity to put smiles on childrens’ faces? My answer: It’s working alongside the amazing TeamSmile pros at each of their TeamSmile events! As a volunteer with no dentistry skills, I could easily have been left with the feeling that my contributions were not needed. However, that is never the case with TeamSmile. I love every chance I get to help out, from helping to greet the kids as they show up at the event, until all of the equipment is taken down and packed in the truck for the next event. I am always excited to tell people about their amazing programs and how they can be a part of the magic at these events! Thank you for all that you do for the children in our communities … and for making be feel like I can help make a difference!"

As the world leader in oral care, Colgate is committed to improving children’s oral health around the world. Colgate has been a proud sponsor and supporter of TeamSmile since the initial Kansas City Program in 2007. One of Colgate's core values, as a corporation, is caring and giving back to our communities. One of the main ways Colgate achieves this is through the global Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures® Program. The opportunity to provide screening and treatment to several thousand children each year through TeamSmile and Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® programs in coordination with dental professionals, volunteers and sports teams allows them to teach the importance of oral health care, as well as help children form healthy habits that will last a lifetime. It is their partnership with community programs, such as TeamSmile, that helps make the world a healthier, happier place to live one smile at a time and gives everyone a future to smile about.

"It has been a great honor to attend several TeamSmile events over the last few years. It has been truly amazing to experience the sheer amount of kids receiving quality dental support & procedures. Every kid should have the opportunity to dream and truly enjoy childhood... through this journey, healthy teeth are important, in that they purvey confidence which in turn opens doors of opportunity as they become adults. Speaking as a Colgate employee attending these events, there is no doubt that TeamSmile does a great job in going above and beyond in achieving their mission by helping kids across the US, with quality dental care." ---- Derrick Whitmore - Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals, Regional Manager Northeast.
