A Message from the President
Supporting our Customers & Communities in New Ways

While the pandemic continues to be very impactful in many ways here in Northeast Wisconsin, I hope everyone is staying healthy and doing well.
At the bank we continue to adjust with the ever-changing guidelines, orders, and conditions. Most of you are probably aware that our drive-up banking continues to function as usual while we have returned to lobby by appointment. Our focus continues to be doing all we can to keep our employees, our customers, and our communities safe. We also strive to continue to take care of our customers’ financial needs in the best way that we can.
Through these very unusual times, the bank continues to grow, add new products and services, and add new employees.
In the community, our local food pantries continue to be in great need of food and monetary donations. After wrapping up a successful drive in October, we started another "contactless" drive right away. The need is great! Please consider donating if you're able.
In the last newsletter I shared how the bank has adapted to the many changes in our world. We are also adapting our popular “Santa at the Bank” event. This year we're excited to bring our Santa Float to the communities we serve!
My wish is that everyone will stay healthy and find some new ways to celebrate and enjoy the holiday season.

COMING SOON TO A NEIGHBORHOOD NEAR YOU!
WRCB Santa Float
|
|
Since March, our lives have looked considerably different as we’ve been forced to adapt to the ever-changing way we learn, work, shop and socialize. After having to cancel or re-imagine just about every “annual” bank event this year, we were determined to revamp our typical “Santa at the Bank” event in an effort to bring some much-needed holiday cheer to the communities we serve!
During the week of December 7th, Wolf River Community Bank will be bringing Santa through residential areas of Hortonville, Greenville, New London and Shiocton as he sits atop a “Santa Float” allowing onlookers to wave from their homes or from the sidewalk in a safe and socially distanced manner. The float will be accompanied by members of the local police and/or fire departments in each municipality.
The Santa Float will be visiting the following communities on dates listed below:
-
Hortonville – Monday, December 7th at 5:30 p.m., route TBD
-
Greenville – Tuesday, December 8th at 5:30 p.m. starting at the Fire Station, ending at Lions Park (View the route)
-
Shiocton – Wednesday, December 9th at 5:30 p.m., route TBD
-
New London – Thursday, December 10th at 5:30 p.m. starting at the Fire Station, ending at the Waters Supper Club (View the route)
Community members will be able to track Santa as he travels through town using the bank’s “Santa Tracker” tool. Float routes and the “Santa Tracker” link can be found at https://www.wolfriverbank.com/santa/.

The need for food at food pantries is in high demand right now because of the pandemic. Food pantries are often running out of food. If you are able, please join us for our Holiday Food Drive with contactless drop-off.
We are accepting food and cash donations at all of our branches November 2 through December 7. Non-expired food donations or personal care items can be placed in red collection bins in foyer or near drive-thru. Food pantries especially need canned fruit, canned veggies and boxed pasta. Monetary donations can be give to a teller via drive-thru.
Your donations will support the Hortonville Community Food Pantry and the New London Community Cupboard.

5 Tips for Password Safety
|
|
According to Shred-it's second annual International Fraud Awareness Week Report, 46% of Americans believe they are vulnerable to fraud or identity theft based on their physical and digital security habits. Over half of respondents (51%) admitted to reusing passwords and PINs for multiple accounts, and 20% said they have shared login details with friends and family members. This, coupled with a major seasonal uptick in online shopping can create some easy targets for cybercriminals.
Creating strong passwords should be the number one priority in keeping your online world safe. Having weak passwords could result in stolen identities, loss of data or money, and even the loss of a job and/or reputation.
You’ve likely heard recommendations for creating secure passwords before. Experts suggest using long, complex, and random combinations of words, letters, numbers and special characters.

WRCB Supports Local Organizations Impacted by COVID-19 with $15,000 in Grants and Two Community Food Drives
|
|
Grant recipients include: Hortonville Community Food Pantry, Bamboo Restaurant and Iglesia de Cristo Ministerios Elim Church
Wolf River Community Bank in partnership with The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago awarded Targeted Impact Fund Grants totaling $15,000 to organizations in the Fox West community and beyond. These grants were made to support relief efforts for those hardest-hit by COVID-19 and to promote equity and opportunity for communities of color.
Grants in the amount of $5,000 each were awarded to three organizations: Hortonville Community Food Pantry, Bamboo Restaurant in Appleton and Iglesia de Cristo Ministerios Elim Church in New London.
The Targeted Impact Fund Grants support populations disproportionately affected by the pandemic, including Black, Latino, American Indian, elderly, rural and low- and moderate-income communities in general.
