#11 Bus Continues Through Spring

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) will continue to offer  pilot bus service  on the  #11 Lincoln bus route for another six months  to June 2017 to further evaluate bus ridership and collect more community feedback about the route extension.

The #11  will continue to run along Lincoln Ave weekdays from 10 AM - 7 PM and serve more than 40 bus stops between the Western Brown Line stop and Fullerton.

At the end of the pilot in June 2017, CTA will determine whether to make the service permanent. Make sure to ride the #11 frequently and share your opinion with the CTA.

2016-17 Holiday Refuse & Recycling Schedule

Please note these changes to the refuse and recycling schedule due to the Sunday, December 25th (Christmas) and Sunday, January 1st (New Year's Day) holidays
The Department of Streets and Sanitation will collect all refuse and recycling Tuesday through Friday of the respective holiday weeks. Please make sure all your black refuse and blue recycling carts are accessible throughout the week and not solely on their regular day of collection.

City Recycling Drop Off Centers Phasing Out

The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum recycling dumpsters were recently moved to 1150 N. North Branch outside the Household Chemicals and Computer Recycling Facility. As mentioned in the recent DNA info article, drop off centers around the city will be removed in early 2017.

As of January 1st, 2017 all buildings are now required to provide recycling whether through city services or private scavenger. The drop-off centers were deemed unnecessary in part due to the implementation of the new ordinance.

Residents can call 311 to report noncompliance after Jan. 1 and can call 311 or my office at 773-348-9500 to request additional recycling bins.

Shared Sidewalk Program
