As we approach the end of 2020, it is always good to look back and reflect on how the year has unfolded. In a COVID-19 pandemic year, the NAACP San Diego branch’s fundraising activities and programs to accomplish our future goals was in jeopardy of being stopped, changed, or eliminated.
What happens when the much-needed work this organization has been doing for over 100 years is being drastically limited in reach and involvement? What happens when the economy begins to collapse under the pressure of a pandemic, inequality protest, job losses, food demands, business, and school closures?
The answer for us came from Wawanesa, a champion of a company ready, willing, and able to give a huge $100,000 donation in support of the community in which they belong! Companies are also measured by their employees, so Wawanesa must have the very best because they raised additional funds in support of justice and equality to give an impressive $17,200 donation. We are grateful and thankful.
