Winter is here in Minnesota! As we enjoy this holiday season, I hope everyone is staying warm, working safely, and enjoying the moments that make this time of year special.
This year marked meaningful growth for MCA. Through fun and engaging events, increased membership, and greater visibility across the construction community, we continued to build momentum together. Thank you for the energy and dedication that helped make 2025 such a success.
As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited to kick off the year with our Annual Awards of Excellence Gala on Wednesday, January 28, at the Minneapolis Marriott West. Join us as we applaud the dedication, hard work, and excellence that have defined the best of the best.

Industry Event: Trades for Tomorrow Career Fair
Wednesday, February 11 at Elk River High School
Trades for Tomorrow is a student-led, initiative based project aimed to address the need for employees within trade industries at Elk River High School. The goals is to provide students the opportunities to explore job opportunities post high school and connect undecided seniors to real world job opportunities and bridge the gap of jobs in trade based careers.

Como Park Conservatory - Sunken Garden
Grazzini Brothers & Company is proud to have completed the custom natural stone flooring for the recent renovation of the Sunken Garden at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in Saint Paul. The project features a multicolored, hand-set stone pattern designed to enhance the garden’s visual rhythm and complement the Conservatory’s iconic glass architecture.
Working within an active horticultural space required careful coordination, precise installation, and strict protection of existing historic elements. Our team navigated tight access, environmental controls, and complex layout requirements to deliver a durable, visually striking floor that supports the Conservatory’s seasonal floral displays.

Grant was an MCA member for over 20 years with Smith Schafer. He served as the MCA Treasurer from 2016-2021 and also served in multiple other board roles including director, secretary, and vice president. In addition, Grant was recognized as the MCA Member of the Year in 2022.
He was deeply respected not only for his expertise, but for his humor, his kindness, and the genuine compassion he showed to everyone he met. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Grant’s family, friends, and all who were touched by his life and legacy.

The Boldt Company
Several members of The Boldt Company team got their ho-ho-ho on by planning, designing and decorating a tree for the annual Hiawatha Homes' Festival of Trees event. This was Boldt's ninth year decorating a tree, and the theme was a "Wickedly Good Christmas". The event is the organization's signature fundraising event, raising more than $4 million to support individuals living with disabilities in the Rochester, MN community.
