GREETINGS FROM GIDON

During the holiday season we like to get cozy at home. The fireplace is the ideal place to feel the warmth of the season. In this issue I will discuss fireplaces, and some of the options available.

Scenario 1: Converting an Existing Wood-Burning Fireplace to Gas/Electric

If you have a wood-burning fireplace, and you are tired of supplying logs and the constant cleanup, you have the option to convert it to a gas or electric fireplace. In this scenario you already have the existing structure with the chimney flue; there is no need to create a new space in the room for the fireplace. Once the new unit is installed, all you need to do is press the button on the remote and the flames ignite.

Scenario 2: Finding a Space for a New Fireplace

As long as you have a source of natural gas, propane or electric, it is relatively easy to install a new fireplace. You will need to decide on the size of the firebox, and we will build it accordingly.

As in Scenario 1, a part of the job will be running a gas line and electric power to the location of the new fireplace. If there is no gas or propane in your house, the other option is installing an electric-only fireplace. I am happy to discuss options that best fit your space, timeline and budget. Text or email me to schedule a call.
