Court of King's Bench Announcement

Announcement from Court & Justice Services (CJS): King's Bench Christmas Closure & Filings Dec. 24, 2022 - Jan. 2, 2023 Inclusive

The Court of King's Bench Clerk's Office will be closed from Dec. 24, 2022, through Jan. 2, 2023, inclusive.

The Clerk's Office will not be accepting email filings during the closure, and courthouses will not be open to allow access to filing drop boxes or the counters. Filing should be provided to the Clerks' office by 4 p.m. on Dec. 23, 2022, whether through email or drop box.

All Justice Digital Filing Services will continue to accept filing during the closure. Please only submit eligible documents. 

Please note that documents will not be processed until Jan. 3, 2023, or later.

Judicial Compensation Review: Request for Submissions

An independent Judicial Compensation Commission has been established under Alberta’s 

Judicature Act to review and recommend the appropriate level of compensation for the 

Provincial Court of Alberta judges and Court of King’s Bench applications judges, for the period 

April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2025.

The Commission will be holding a public hearing from Feb. 1 – 3, 2023 at the Edmonton Law Courts building, 1A Sir Winston Churchill Square.

The Commission is inviting written submissions from interested members of the public on 

the appropriate level of compensation for judges for the time period of April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2025. Please send electronic written submissions on or 

before Jan. 16, 2023.
