The study evaluated the current market demand and support for new rental housing and provided a 10-year forecast for market-rate rental units. The market area examined for the study included Lee’s Summit and six surrounding communities (Independence, Blue Springs, Grandview, Overland Park, Olathe and Lenexa). The study found that the current occupancy rate in Lee’s Summit is 98.8%, indicating a very strong demand for rental housing.
