Holiday Parade of Lights: 2019 Awards, 2020 Theme and Dates
Last Thursday evening awards were presented to boaters for their participation in the 2019 Holiday Parade of Lights. The ceremony, organized by the Marina at Dana Point and hosted by Dana Point Yacht Club, was a packed, lively affair with decor reflective of the tiki theme.

Among many awards presented at the event, the Dana Point Boaters Association awarded our "Most Spirit Cup." While most of the awards recognize a boat's decorations and theme, our annual DPBA award recognizes the crew that best demonstrates the fun and spirit of Dana Point Boating. This year, the recipient of the Most Spirit Cup accomplished both: a beautifully decorated boat with a crew that displayed their joy on multiple nights through the entire parade route. Our congratulations to Stephen Miller and his crew of the sailing vessel Alcyone.

The Marina at Dana Point concluded the ceremony by announcing the 2020 Holiday Parade of Lights theme and dates. 2020's parade theme will be "Fiesta Holiday," and the parade will take place on Wednesday through Saturday evenings, January 9 - 12. Of course, this is a change from the tradition of holding the parade on consecutive Friday and Saturday evenings.

We are interested in your thoughts on the 2019 parade and the 2020 theme and dates. Please respond with your feedback.

Happy New Year.

Every dollar counts. If you can spare $10, $25, $50 or $100 to the cause, it goes a long way to keeping us on track, please click here to donate!  Thank you.
