Holiday Party! Reserve a hotel room & sign up for dinner on Motorsportreg.com .

Our Green Mountain Porsche Club holiday party will be held on Saturday, December 7 in Montpelier at the Capitol Plaza Hotel. There's a cocktail party starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by a great dinner. Some of us like to stay overnight afterward, and if that includes you, this is a reminder that the deadline for booking a reduced-rate room is in four days, November 7.

While we have been holding the parties in Burlington in past years, this year the party will be held in the state capital for geographical balance. A number of rooms are blocked at the Capitol Plaza Hotel for those who would like to stay overnight at a reasonable rate of just over $100. To book a room, call the hotel at 802-223-5252 and ask for the Green Mountain Porsche Holiday Party block. Again, must book by Nov. 7.

And sign up now for the dinner! If you plan to attend the holiday party, regardless of whether you book a room, you need to sign up and register through Motorsportreg.com. Click on that link and follow the instructions for easy signup and payment. Deadline for the dinner registration and payment is Dec. 2. Dinner cost is $50 per person for all the courses including dessert. Cocktail hour is a cash bar. All members and family members and friends are welcome to attend social hour and dinner. We hope to again have a projection screen with a running slide show of photos from our tours this year. It's a great time to get together in the holiday season when most of us have had to put our Porsches away for the winter!

Great fall tour! Thanks to Pete and Ellen Arnold, we had a great Fall Foliage tour on October 7. It was a great preview for what everyone says has been one of the best leaf seasons ever in Vermont. We had a fun lunch and productive annual meeting in Quechee, with the membership present unanimously passing new bylaws to govern our Green Mountain Region Porsche Club.

Name Tags: We recommend that new members and their spouses/partners purchase "official" Green Mountain Club name tags for wearing at all GMR events. Please email our treasurer, Christina McCaffrey , to request them for you and your spouse or partner, and she will try to get them for you in time for the next event. The cost is $15.00 per name tag.

Tech Talk - Ask Jason!

Green Mountain PCA Member Jason Eastman, mechanic and owner of Bullfrog Auto in Milton, Vermont, has graciously agreed to answer members’ questions about their Porsches in a club feature we call “Ask Jason,” appearing here in the Mountaineer and in the Tech Talk section of our website .

Any member with a question should email Communications Chair Sandy Gilmou r or Webmeister Alessandro Iuppa who will forward to Jason after which we will publish the answer(s). Likewise, if you would like to submit a an article on a technical subject regarding Porsches, email to Sandy and/or Al. PLEASE SEND IN YOUR QUESTIONS! It's a great opportunity to get some great advice.
