Dear Gardening Friends,
This cute boy is one of our littlest customers, Quin, in his backyard enjoying a bounty of amazing foods. Quin is very lucky because his mother, Michelle, organically grows and makes his food from harvests of her own home garden. She loves to buy organic seedlings from Two Dog Nursery because she knows that Quin is getting the best tasting and healthiest food available.
Unfortunately, in America all children aren't as lucky as Quin.
In the U.S.,1 in 4 children lives in poverty. The U.S. Department of Agriculture released its annual report on household food security, which showed that 17.2 million American households are food-insecure (households that struggle to feed all members); out of that 17.2 million, 3.9 million of these food-insecure households were families with children.
The hunger problem in America is serious--but you can make a difference and have an impact on hunger in our community!!
