Warm Holiday Wishes from RCBM

To our patients, colleagues, and community: we’re grateful for your trust and partnership throughout the year. This holiday season, we’re wishing you peace, connection, and care - wherever you are and however you celebrate.

What to Know About Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

During the colder, darker months, some people experience more than just the “winter blues.” Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a form of depression tied to the changing seasons - most commonly emerging in late fall and lasting through winter.

In his latest blog post, Dr. Joel Young explains how SAD affects mood, energy, sleep, and motivation. The good news? It’s treatable. Light therapy, medication, and lifestyle changes can make a big difference.

Staying Sober Through the Holidays

The holiday season can be a joyful time - but also a challenging one for individuals in recovery. In her latest blog post, Aliya Pasik, PA‑C, Director of the Addiction Medicine Program at RCBM, offers supportive, stigma-free strategies to stay grounded, intentional, and connected during this time of year.

Aliya is also the author of The Sobriety Manual - a compassionate and practical guide to understanding addiction, reclaiming mental wellness, and building a sustainable life in recovery.

Whether you're navigating your own sobriety or supporting someone you love, you're not alone. Help is here.
