HOLIDAY STORYTIMES

Did you hear the news? This week, our Storytimes will feature books about holiday celebrations from around the world (and near you!). There are so many winter holidays and what better way for our little ones to learn about them than with stories? Featured celebrations will include Santa Lucia, a Scandinavian holiday; Hanukkah, a Jewish celebration; Las Posadas, a Mexican Christmas tradition; Tió de Nadal, a Christmas folktale from Catalonia (Spain); Dōngzhì and Shab-e Yaldā, winter solstice celebrations from China and Persia; Christmas; Kwanzaa, an African-American celebration; and Ōmisoka, a Japanese New Year’s Eve celebration.

Storytimes will then be on break from December 18 through January 7.
