Question: What has surprised you while working at The Holland Law firm?
Pat:
The most surprising aspect of working at the firm has been the change in law practice management due to increasing use of technology. Advances in technology such as electronic court filing, email, and cloud storage allow for more efficient delivery of legal services.
Question: Do you think working at the firm has helped you see the practice of law differently? What has changed?
Pat:
I’ve always wanted to work in the legal field and working at The Holland Law Firm has shown me how important legal services are to ordinary people. It opened my eyes about the need for access to justice and affordable legal fees.
Question: What do you like about working in the legal field?
Pat:
Working as a paralegal is personally fulfilling because I can help the attorneys make a real difference in people’s lives. There is always something new so the work is always interesting.
Question: What would you like people to know about you?
Pat:
Due to Peter’s encouragement, I am attending Anne Arundel Community College part-time to complete a paralegal degree.
Question: Where are you from originally?
Pat:
I was born in Washington, D.C. and have lived in Anne Arundel County since 1969. My husband and I have been married 42 years and we have four children and two grandchildren.
Question: What kinds of things do you like to do in your free time?
Pat:
During my free time, I enjoy kayaking with my husband and friends on the Chesapeake Bay and in Florida. Other hobbies include gardening, crafting, and baking.
