This Month's Creativity Boost
|

I stumbled across a series of online classes presented by the London Drawing Group called "Painting with Scissors". I did a class that was inspired by Matisse and a class inspired by the work of Rodin. The online format allows you to replay the class at your leisure. You learn about the artist, you cut paper into shapes while listening to music, and you get to just have FUN!!
You can peruse their upcoming events here:
The London Drawing Group is a collective of three contemporary artists currently practising in London. Although our practices are individually varied and diverse, we are brought together by our shared love of and passion for drawing, and our experiences of being taught by a huge range of practising artists at the Royal Drawing School Central.
Our aim as a collective is simply to get more people drawing, making, connecting and engaging with art. We genuinely believe that art is for everyone, and that sometimes the only thing keeping people from engaging in the playful, unknown and unpredictable process of art-making, is that it can seem intimidating. Through working to break down contextual barriers through innovative methods of teaching and creating, we hope to make drawing approachable to everyone.

A Message from our President

Thank You for your Membership!
2022 marks Hollis Arts Society’s 15th anniversary. Our organization was incorporated in the State of New Hampshire in June 2007 with a mission “to support a creative arts environment that focuses on creative development, access to economic opportunities, and social interaction of artists and art patrons resulting in the cultural betterment of our regional community.”
When considering all the changes that have taken place in these past 15 years, I believe HAS is well on its way of demonstrating our sustainability, endurance, and continued success in providing our own members and the local community an important appreciation and sharing of original arts.
Our entire board (including BOD members past and present) extends our sincere gratitude to your dedicated membership and your vital support that has brought us to our 15th year. Your enthusiasm and commitment toward HAS local art events and happenings throughout the year have deepened this unique commitment between our members, our artists, and our local Southern New Hampshire region.
This year's Board is more invigorated and innovative than ever before and ready to offer more artistic opportunities, more formats, and more engaging events coupled with essential communication that brings us together as a stronger art community. As we begin this new year, we are committed to our mission and ever grateful for your friendship, membership, and continuing support.
Sincerely,
Ron Weiss
