In my area, you have to book your appointment for Christmas photos at a local tree farm as early as July. By August everything is completely book and you’re relegated to the waiting list. Despite having to be focused on Christmas during the summer for professional reasons, I’m not organized enough to coordinate family Christmas photos in the summer. My dream of having this type of family photo will remain a dream for now.

For today’s email, I’m going to send you to the tree farm without me. With all the driving to summer camps and a couple of family road trips, I’m not going any further than my pool this weekend. I’m going to send you on your way and encourage you to have some festive fun without me!

A holiday tradition for many families is to visit a Christmas tree farm to cut their own tree. Holly Berry Tree Farm, the new collection from Deb Strain, is filled with the scenes you would enjoy while picking out your tree.

What's your favourite thing to see at the tree farm? Pinecones and berries, evergreen wreaths, poinsettias, snowflakes and the occasional cardinal? The Churnover table runner is based on a pattern by Pieced Tree Design. Marilyn opted to give it a scrappier look than the pattern called for and what a success! It’s at a great price point too which definitely doesn’t hurt these days.

This next collection, due to arrive VERY SOON is a little more in line with my mental state these days. The world is a little exhausting right now, and we all deserve a getaway. With florals, dots, stripes and other abstract designs, in shades as light as the sand on the shore and blues as deep as the ocean below, this collection promises to be a vacation on its own.  

This beautiful 30-piece collection from Laundry Basket Quilts has made it as far as Montreal and we’re not so patiently waiting for it to make the final leg of the journey to us. As soon as it does, we’ll be ready with the usual assortment of precut bundles and more...

Speaking of more…

We loved the Fair Isle Block of the Month pattern so much, we chose to come up with a different fabric option. Beginning this fall, the Fair Isle Block of the Month will be available in the Blue Escape collection! The quilt will be absolutely stunning in these fabrics.

I will have much more to say about the Blue Escape version of Fair Isle in the weeks ahead, but if you were tempted to participate earlier this year and the Bellingham Bay fabrics weren’t in line with your style, this might be your opportunity to join in the fun!

If you are a loyal Tilda follower, I probably don’t have to tell you that Hometown, Tilda’s fall collection, will be available for worldwide release on October 1st. I probably also don’t have to tell you that the collection is now available for preorders! 

Hometown is a cozy collection where the love of home and community was the main inspiration. Drawings of neighbourhoods, houses, gardens, and gatherings in autumn colours are perfect for your homey quilts and projects. The collection has a mix of patterns brought together by a sprinkled look that will make them seem to interlace in a patchwork. The rusty red tones – perhaps combined with green – will also work well for your Christmas projects. 

There will be more about this new collection in the weeks ahead, but I wanted to let you know that this collection will be heading our way in the not-too-distant future!

In the past few weeks I’ve had lots to say about Prairie, the latest collection from Lori Holt, so I don’t need to tell you anything more about it. I simply need to remind you that this pretty collection is available now in-store and online.
