Many Thanks to Our Partners

Turning a Meltdown into a Miracle: A Sweet Surprise from Mama Bird's

When life handed Mama Bird’s Ice Cream a broken walk-in freezer last month, they didn't just see a logistical headache; they saw an opportunity to give back. In the midst of the stress of repairs, they chose generosity over frustration, donating 54 pints of ice cream to the Cupboard.

The timing couldn't have been better. On one of the warmest days we’ve seen so far this year, Cupboard clients were treated to a little bit of "normalcy" and a lot of joy. Seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter as families picked out their favorite flavors was a powerful reminder of how much a small gesture can mean.

We are so lucky to have partners like Mama Bird's who prioritize their neighbors, even when things go wrong!

A Simple Tax Win for 2026 Donors

Good news for your 2026 taxes: you no longer have to itemize your deductions to see a tax benefit from your cash donations to the Cupboard. Even if you take the standard deduction, a new rule allows you to deduct your cash contributions directly from your adjusted gross income.

Here is the quick breakdown of how it works:

  • The Benefit: You can deduct up to $1,000 (or $2,000 if filing jointly).
  • The Method: Your donation must be made via cash, check, or credit/debit card.
  • What’s Excluded: Non-cash items (like clothing or groceries), stock transfers, and donations to donor-advised funds do not qualify for this specific deduction.

This is a straightforward way to support local families while lowering your tax bill at the same time.

Disclaimer: Consult a tax professional for advice specific to your situation.

March 20 Concert Benefits Cupboard

Friday, March 20, 8 p.m. at Niche Wine Lounge

Get ready to twist and shout for a great cause! Strange Invitation is performing music by the Beatles and donating proceeds to the Cupboard.

Strange Invitation brings the Fab Four’s greatest hits to the community. But the music is only half the story. The band has generously committed to donating the proceeds from their performance directly to the Cupboard. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a night of classic tunes while knowing that every note played provides "a little help from our friends" here in Holly Springs.

Help by Donating Food or Funds

The generosity of the Holly Springs community enables the Cupboard to keep the doors open and shelves stocked. Host a food drive at your school, religious organization, business or civic group. Monetary donations allow the Food Cupboard to purchase fresh items and supplement food drive donations. Even the smallest donations make a difference. Thank you for considering helping.

Thank you to our dedicated volunteers and generous community for making everything we do possible.
