Holmes Camp News
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE - AUGUST 30TH
Our next worship service is this Sunday, August 30th at 10am. All are welcome to virtually join us!

Visit our Holmes FaceBook page or YouTube channel at 10am. There is no sign in or sign up needed. Our worship bulletin will be posted HERE on our website.

For Pastors and church leadership who continue to feel the strain of COVID-19 restrictions on their church activities and have been working tirelessly to create fantastic Sunday Worship experiences, we are here to help and give you some much needed Sabbath time! Pastors - simply provide your parishioners with the above information. If you are not a pastor, but a member of a church, please encourage your pastor(s) to take us up on our Sunday Worship. Everyone is welcome at Holmes.

Virtual Sunday Worship Services with Holmes Camp have been such a joy. We have had some fabulous 'guest stars' join our service and thousands of virtual attendees from the Presbytery of Long Island, the Presbytery of New York City, the Hudson River Presbytery and beyond!

TRAIL CLEARING WORK DAY, SEPT 19TH
Mark you calendar for next Trail Work Day - Sept 19th, 8:30 am to 4 pm. (You do not need to stay the whole time!)

The summer storms have downed many trees and branches. It's all hands on deck to help get our trails cleared for the fall.

If you are handy with a chain saw - we could use your help! (Bringing you own chain saw is encouraged.) There's also plenty of lighter debris that will be easy enough to clear by hand.

We will meet at the Office/Workshop (60 Denton Lake Road) at 8:30 to hand out assignments. (For those who arrive later, there will be instructions available.) We will be social distancing, but please do bring a mask for when we are gathered together. And, because of social distancing protocols, we will not be providing lunch - however you are welcome to bring your own and find a quiet spot to picnic! Don't forget work gloves, protective eye wear and a water bottle!

RSVP's are appreciated, but not required: [email protected]
HOLMES CAMP FARM STAND
Thanks to everyone who came by the Farm Stand last weekend!

We will be open this Saturday, August 29 from 10 am to Noon at the Farm on Denton Lake Road.

Stop by and support Holmes Camp! Veggies available while supplies last!
SUMMER APPEAL - THANK YOU!
2020 has been...challenging.

In July, Holmes Camp and Retreat Center sent out a special summer appeal request

To our friends, campers, alumni and churches who have already sent in a gift - we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. We are so grateful for your support.

For those who want to help, but haven't gotten around to it yet - it's not too late! We need your help to get through this difficult time.

Our story is like so many others - while we have furloughed staff or cut staff hours and temporarily shuttered some of our buildings to reduce costs, even with those adjustments, we need the help of our supporters to get through this period. Each gift makes a difference.

We are still managing to move several projects along at camp, including painting the interior of Nunamaker and cleaning up from the storm.(Thanks to staff and volunteers!) And, we're looking into ways we can safely open on a limited basis this fall.

We ask, if you are able to do so, please consider making a donation today.
THINGS TO DO AT HOLMES
While our camp is closed to campers and retreat groups this summer, you are still welcome to visit. Take a long walk, hike one of our many trails or fish in the lake.

Before you visit, please read the camp rules and policies on our Things to Do at Holmes page!

When you arrive, we ask that you contact Bryan at 845-235-6458, to let him know you are on the site. Remember to social distance if you come upon others. While on site, please do not enter any buildings or cross any construction fences or caution tape!  If you are unsure of your path, please ask Bryan for guidance.
WE ARE ALWAYS GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SUPPORT
