Holmes Camp News
THANKS TO OUR SUMMER THEOLOGICAL INTERN MYLIKA
Summer looked very different this year at Holmes Camp. In place of splashing at the waterfront and campfires under the stars, we needed to pivot to virtual sing a-longs, fun and games through Facebook and Youtube and a Virtual Vacation Bible School Program.

Helping us navigate the temporary norm was our Summer Theological Intern, Mylika. And boy, did we feel blessed to have her around!!

Mylika has been a Holmes camper and staff member over the years. Her knowledge, enthusiasm, humor and love for Holmes shines through. This summer working with our Assistant Camp Director, she was instrumental in helping to prepare our Virtual Vacation Bible School, as well as our Holmes@Home social media posts all summer.

In addition, during this unusual summer down time, the camp team also focused on our hopes, dreams, and actual plans for next summer and beyond. (You'll be hearing about that before too long!)

We want to make sure to say "Thank You Mylika!" and wish her luck as she heads down to Georgia to continue her education at Columbia Theological Seminary. We hope to see her again soon!
Mark Your Calendars!
TRAIL CLEARING & YARD WORK DAY, SEPT 19TH
Mark your calendar for our next Trail Clearing and Yard Work Day - Sept 19th, 8:30 am to 4 pm. (You do not need to stay the whole time!)

Summer storms have downed many trees and branches. It's all hands on deck to help get our trails cleared and our yards tidy for the fall. Bring yard work equipment (work gloves, rakes, leaf blowers, trimmers, etc) if you have any. There's lots of light debris to clear by hand on the trails. You do not have to be handy with a chainsaw BUT if you are... we could use your help! (Bring your own chainsaw please.)

We will meet at the Office/Workshop (60 Denton Lake Road) at 8:30 to hand out assignments. (For those who arrive later, there will be instructions available.) We will be social distancing, but please do bring a mask for when we are gathered together. And, because of social distancing protocols, we will not be providing lunch - however you are welcome to bring your own and find a quiet spot to picnic! Don't forget work gloves, protective eyewear and a water bottle!

RSVP's are appreciated, but not required: Holmes@HolmesCamp.org
