Dear Friends,
We hope you are all having a wonderful start to the Spring season filled with new beginnings! This month, we are highlighting a part of Jackson that fills us with pride: our renowned Ryder Trauma Center, which also treats children. That’s right, Ryder is also a world-renowned pediatric Level I trauma center located in Miami-Dade County. We’re excited for you to learn more about why Ryder Trauma is the centerpiece of Miami-Dade County’s trauma care system for people of all ages.
In addition, we are counting down the final days to our annual Golden Angels Gala in April, one of the most glamorous and anticipated social events of the season. Our Golden Angels have raised millions to support Jackson’s mission and generously host our gala each year, and for that we are so grateful.
Finally, we are saying thank you to our doctors this month (and every month!) but especially on Doctors’ Day. In honor of the tireless dedication to their work and our community, we will celebrate Doctors’ Day across the health system on March 30, 2022. We invite you to celebrate with us!
All the best,

Ryder Trauma Center at
Jackson Memorial Hospital:
World-Renowned Treatment for Children
|
|
Jackson is well known for providing unmatched trauma care. For nearly 30 years, Ryder Trauma Center has been saving lives in Miami-Dade County, treating approximately 5,500 patients per year at its two locations: Jackson Memorial Hospital and Jackson South Medical Center. Our doctors, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, and staff excel in providing world-renowned treatment.
Since opening its doors in 1992 - just weeks before Hurricane Andrew - Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial has saved thousands of adults and children every year, making it one of the busiest trauma centers in South Florida. It is also home to the Miami Burn Center, one of the nation’s leading burn facilities.
In addition, as of 2016 we’ve helped save even more lives at Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson South, a full-service, Level II trauma center, which also benefits from unlimited access to the invaluable resources of Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial.
We provide the following services to trauma victims:
Advanced trauma care is also provided to a large number of international patients transferred from the Caribbean, South America, and Central America. Ryder Trauma features extensive research and education facilities, and serves as the only U.S. Army Forward Surgical Team Training facility in the United States, preparing military healthcare personnel to provide care to those injured on the battlefield.
From resuscitation to rehabilitation, we provide a comprehensive continuum of care to the entire community. The specialized training, experience, and skills of our surgeons, physicians, nurses, and staff are responsible for saving lives and hastening patient recoveries at every stage of the process.
Miracle Trauma Stories
Ryder Trauma Center has helped thousands of patients survive some of the most traumatic injuries from gunshot wounds, car crashes, fires, and more. Some of those grateful patients have shared their stories and how Jackson helped save their lives. We invite you to read their stories here.

Donor Spotlight:
Paying It Forward
|
|
At Holtz Children’s Hospital, we strive to provide our patients with top quality healthcare, the latest technology and research to ensure we continue to make miracles happen daily. Thankfully, our donors help support us through gifts big and small. Take for example, an anonymous donor who works in construction in Miami-Dade County. He was so moved by the care a friend's child got at Holtz that he makes monthly donations in honor of the amazing clinical staff. In his own words - “I give to Jackson Health Foundation because they helped the son of a dear friend and changed his life. All children deserve great healthcare and I want to do my part."
It is through the generosity of all of our donors that Jackson Health System and Holtz Children’s Hospital are able to provide our community with top quality healthcare and life-saving technology.
