Pastor Trudy's Message
by Lisle Gwynn Garrity
A Sanctified Art LLC |
Blinded by the light! In this story, often called the conversion of Saul, I'm wondering if it isn't more of a culminating or clarifying experience than a brand new one. He was already faithful, he just learned to see his faith in a new way, in particular through the life of Jesus. Thinking of it in this way may help you remember the people who helped you to learn about faithfulness, and especially those who helped you to see God in a new way, in particular, through the life of Jesus. Take a moment to thank them!

God, You are always working in us, thank you for the moments of awareness and the people who teach us to see them, so we can see You in a new way. In Jesus' name, Amen.

9:00 am Sunday Worship: GLC YouTube channel
Children's Bulletins: Ages 3+ and Ages 7+
How will we make a budget for 2020-21 with so much uncertainty? Honestly, it probably isn't so different from the conversations you're having in your family about what your next year could look like. Our Finance team (Mike Slifka, Dan Harmon, Perry Erhart, and Norm Loboda) drafted a budget based on some assumptions and took it to Council. Council asked for the Finance team to run a total of three budget scenarios in order to help us present a budget to the congregation that is realistic, challenging and clear.

Keep watching for more information because the most important part of our budget or ministry plan is the people who make it happen!  We pray, leadership plans and informs, we pray, we all respond as we are able, we pray and trust all of the ways God is working through GLC!
August In-Person Worship
The livestream will continue, but we are also committed to trying new things and learning as we continue to live into the realities of the pandemic. It became clear in July that the vast majority of the congregation is not interested in coming back in larger groups, so we are offering smaller group options and some outdoor options as well. Remember, physically-distanced visits can also be arranged, just let Pastor Trudy know.
Sunday, August 23 @ 9:00 am
Worship in the Sanctuary (up to 30 people)
Please email Julie to sign up.
The service will also be livestreamed.
Sunday, August 23 @ 10:15 am
Brief Communion Service on the front lawn
Holy Communion, Batman! This Sunday we are having a brief communion service on the front lawn at 10:15 am. This is for everyone, but especially with families in mind so your littles (and not-so-littles) can spread out to experience God's grace in God's creation! Please wear masks. If you'd like to receive communion in your car, park along 3rd or Franklin and we will bring it to you!
